Church Family is like a Chocolate Chip Cookie

I gave a lesson to my Children's Class, ages 4 & 5, about how Christ's church is like a chocolate chip cookie. You have lots of individual ingredients that are not edible alone. Yet, when utilized in a recipe that measures the correct amount of each part, and bakes at a certain degree, these same ingredients come together as a sweet, wonderful treat.

I held the class in the church kitchen, making cookies and then giving them to the older classes.
(That was very interesting to do with children that age.)

Some of us were as tasteless and inedible as flour or lard before we became part of the Body of Christ. After our acceptance into Jesus, God placed us right where He wants us as the part He desires. Our salvation in Jesus gives us a rightful, and useful place in the church.

"But God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased" 1 Corinthians 12:
18.

My Strawberry-Rhubarb pie has that very same appeal as an object lesson for this verse also.

And it was very tasty!
