As Speaker at the Ladies Tea ministry at our church, I gave a talk from Ecclesiastes 12:11-14,
"The words of the wise are like goads, and the words of scholars are like well-driven nails, given by the Shepherd. And further, my son, be admonished by these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man's all. For God will bring every work into judgement, including every secret thing, whether good or evil."
The idea is that we can have wisdom from knowing God.
Since the Bible tells us that God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and His ways are higher than our ways, (Isaiah 55: 8,9.) that is an amazing fact of God to which only Christians have access.
The Bible truly is a supernatural book and we as Christians should read it because it is so special.
God does not want us to be ignorant of anything. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17)
Some Christians are ignorant of even the simplest things of God, such as the virgin birth, (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23), or Jesus' equality with God the Father, (Revelation 1: 8) yet there is no excuse for this.
The Bible is a true powerful collection of wisdom that does not come from man--but from the infinite wisdom of God.
Proverbs tells us that wisdom was with God--it was never created--it IS. (proverbs 8: 22, 23) That means the wisdom of God is as eternal as He.
The idea that God would impart that wisdom to dead and dying humans is astonishing!
There is life in wisdom-and that is eternal life!
