EBook Now Available

Hello, I'm Susan Estes, former journalist/columnist for the late SVWeekly,a small local newspaper in Central Maine.

My EBook is published under my by-line S. L. Estes. Through Westbow Press, a Division of Thomas Nelson Publishers, the title Squished! Why God Seemingly Destroys Our Fruit is an inspirational and devotional study guide written to help those experiencing introspective personal events. Designed for individual devotions or group settings, the chapter themes and study section will especially inspire Christians stressed with difficulties.

I wrote wrote Squished! Why God Seemingly Destroys Our Fruit from my own personal journaling while enduring a phase during a time my home church suffered an apparent disaster that unfortunately happens among congregations- -the experience of a church splitting. In it, I describe the sequence of events from the initial crash to the result of a blessing in disguise in the amazing outcome brought through what seemingly came to destroy.

In this short, easily read EBook, I wrote of looking for and finding guidance while under pressure. Anyone facing difficulties may find this book helpful, as times of personal struggles hurt, leaving us feeling troubled and alone.

Please leave a comment and I will be glad to dialogue with you about either the EBook or my publishing experience.

The EBook is available for Kindle through Amazon or Westbow Press bookstore, and for Nook at Barnes & Noble.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Some Truth About Partying

"Where two or three are gathered in My name, I am in the midst of them."

Matthew 18:20

Jesus liked to be with people.
When on this earth, He often attended parties.

God likes people to have fun.

Christians can have fun at parties without sinning.

Eve's Wonderful Purpose

“And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living” Genesis 3:20.

God instigated the first marriage by making a woman for the man. God created Adam, Eve, and the marriage of man and woman. This union was beautiful in God's eyes because it made a whole person from two distinct and different personalities.

Man and woman think differently, react differently, manage differently, and cope differently. By marrying the two, the bond makes stronger the abilities of each to live a new life made by becoming one.

There were no others created to be brought together in this union. By calling her Eve, Adam recognized the privilege and responsibility God gave him of taking care of this wonderful second half of the duo created on the sixth day.

Created by the Almighty God as a vital part of His plan, there is no shame in a woman fulfilling her part in God’s universe, and being a wife, if she chooses the God-honoring bonding of marriage with a man.

Nothing is Something

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth. nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 8: 28, 29.

This NOTHING is truly SOMETHING!

The Book of Acts-A Work In Progress

When Jesus ascended back into heaven, God the Holy Spirit came to us to continue the work of getting the Gospel to the lost and dying world.

"And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever--the Spirit of Truth," John 14:16, 17.

God never lies--so we know the Holy Spirit is God. He is in us and empowers us to do the works of God while we are living in this world.

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth" Acts 1:8

Reading in the Book of Acts how the early church gave the Gospel in any and all circumstances encourages us to stand for the Righteousness of God and tell people how to receive Jesus Free Salvation.

Paul said, "For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified" 1 Corinthians 2:2.

Let us continue to preach Christ and Him crucified.
